The European Union Want to Stay in Greece Euro Zone
EU President Herman Van Rompuy said EU leaders want Greece to stay in the euro zone. However, it stressed that it must fulfill a promise to make changes.
"We want to remain in Greece in the euro area while respecting its commitments," said Van Rompuy after an EU summit.
Van Rompuy said all EU leaders "fully aware of the significant efforts made by the Greeks" after "considerable solidarity" shown by the euro zone partners and vowed to ensure that the grant of the European Union and other ways to provide assistance will be made.
But he stressed: "Continuing reforms essential to recover the debt, encourage private investment and strengthening the institutions they are the best guarantee for a more prosperous future in the euro area.
"We hope after the election, the new Greek government will make that choice."
Initial draft prepared by the euro zone officials have highlighted the need for "a sufficient parliamentary majority" after the June 17 vote, but Van Rompuy did not mention this.

Bomb Targeting the former Minister, 5 killed
Five people were killed and 17 wounded by bomb blast that targeted a former minister in Bogota, Colombia, Tuesday (05/15/2012) local time. President Juan Manuel Santos directly address the event by holding a meeting of the National Security Council.
Santos said the bombing was an assassination attempt against former Interior Minister Fernando Londono. Although there has been no claim of responsibility, revolutionary Bersemjata Force (FARC) allegedly was behind the bombing.
Londono (78), interior minister in the cabinet of President Alvaro Uribe is in power in 2002-2010.
"I think it's an assassination attempt against Mr. Fernando Londono. He was in an armored car at the time," said Santos, who canceled a trip to Cartagena.
Londono survived, but was injured. "His condition is stable in hospital," said Santos, who respond to the incident by holding an emergency meeting of security warnings. Santos said five people were killed including the driver and police escort Londono.
Bogota Mayor Gustavo Petro said via Twitter, blast suspects had been arrested. "The whole town must remain vigilant," he said.
Colombian Red Cross added 17 people have been injured. Witnesses described a deafening explosion. Londono was injured and taken to a hospital immediately.

The attack occurred shortly after police claimed to have uncovered a car bomb left-wing rebels, the FARC, which is used to attack the Bogota police headquarters. FARC is the oldest and largest guerrilla group in Latin America.
